Hello friends,
Recently I went to my hometown city Patna, Bihar for couple of days after taking few days leave from Industry. I was feeling nostalgic and didn't want to come back to Delhi. For sake of Internship I have to come back. From last many days I was thinking about my future. Where I gonna work? Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata. All metro cities. Where is my city Patna? Nowhere. Growth rate is 14.5% or something.
Still no Apparel Industry. Just read an article www.telegraphindia.com › Front Page › Biharand indiatoday.intoday.in › Archive › NATION › June 25, 2012.
It was bit optimistic one that at least Mr Gautam Singhania of Raymond Group open Apparel Manufacturing unit in Patna. Tailor Training Institute is already functional in Digha, Patna. This will standardized the working condition of the Industry. Heard of Labor exodus or migration. It is very common problem in Apparel Industry especially in the area of Bangalore, Chennai. Majority of the labor are from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Their maximum salary is around INR 4000 to 10000. Majority of them can't afford to live for long time or even 10-12 months. They keep on changing company to company as per their needs. They go back to their native places(Bihar, UP).
This instability can create big problem as far as accomplishing the target is concerned. Now, best panacea for this to look for the source. It means that instead of outsourcing labor why not establish the Industry to Bihar.
Patna has good road, air, rail connectivity to the Kolkata. This can vastly help in shipment of aggrandizing goods at lesser rate. In next 2-6 years I believe that Apparel Industry will be established. Patna is congested place, with population density around 1100 person per square kilometer So industry will be established in outer city for sure.
Making Bihar as a Fashion Hub is very challenging. Although government initiated this by establishing NIFT Patna. At seldom rate I am quite sure we will catch up with other metro cities. Needless to say that Bihar has great history. From Astronomy, Science to Religion to Politics, Economics, Great Dynasty , Medical, Surgery to Vatsayana Kamasutra etc. The First Republic city(Vaishali) in world. Now it's time for Fashion.!!
